Miamaine care guide

the 10-minute ritual

Miamaine care guide

I wear my jewelry every day. When I wake up, when I work out, when I sleep, when I shower, when I’m with friends or on a long walk. They belong to me. And they stay beautiful, even after endless wear. Every Miamaine design is put through the ultimate stress test before it ever reaches you. I test each piece myself first, day and night, through every daily ritual.

But let’s be honest: it’s not always what I recommend. Not because they can’t handle it, but because I know how we are as women. We don’t want to take our jewelry off. Not in the shower. Not at the gym. Not when we sleep. And I understand that completely, because I’m the same way.

My jewelry is my anchor, an extension of myself. They remind me that strength and softness can co-exist. That beauty is not reserved for special occasions, but belongs to everyday life. And that sometimes a ring or earring can say more than a thousand words.

That’s why I share my golden rules for caring for your jewelry: a ritual of care that doesn’t feel like a chore, but as a moment for yourself.

gold vermeil

Silver base, luxe gold skin

gold vermeil

Our Gold Vermeil pieces are crafted from sterling silver with a generous layer of 14k gold that goes beyond the industry standard: 3–4 microns thick, with an added e-coating for durability and strength. Made to last for years, but because of the mix of materials, they ask for a little extra love. Polish them weekly or bi-weekly with a soft cloth to remove the week’s buildup.

Sometimes your jewelry needs more than a quick polish. Silver can oxidize through contact with moisture, salts, and air. This can cause darkening, especially on earring posts. Don’t worry, it’s not permanent. It can easily be removed with our 10-minute ritual: a simple method to softly lift oxidation and give yourself a mindful pause.

  • Line a bowl with aluminum foil, shiny side up.
  • Place a clean towel next to it.
  • Lay your jewelry on the foil and sprinkle a pinch of baking soda and a drop of gentle soap (depending on quantity).
  • Pour hot (not boiling) water over until the jewelry is submerged.
  • Leave for around 10 minutes, you’ll see and smell the reaction.
  • Take the pieces out and brush gently with a soft, clean brush (like a new eyebrow spoolie) until the oxidation and dirt lift away. Be careful not to bend delicate parts.
  • Rinse with clean water and pat dry with a soft cloth.
  • Wear them again, filled with love and new memories.

Forever. This is the real thing.

An investment piece. Strong, pure, made to last for generations. Solid gold is forever. Pure, durable, and created to carry stories far beyond your own lifetime. It’s relatively low-maintenance, but it still deserves occasional care.

  • Solid gold can handle almost anything, but for your own peace of mind, take it off when working out or swimming.
  • A warm water soak with mild dish soap is enough to bring back its glow.
  • A soft toothbrush or clean spoolie works wonders in the small details.

Solid gold doesn’t ask for much, but a little care keeps the magic alive.

Not a reset, but proof you lived

The 10 minute ritual

Not a reset, but proof you lived

Miamaine jewelry is made to be worn, every day, with all your stories. We invest in quality and luxury, but embrace imperfection. Pieces grow more beautiful as you live in them. Oxidation, small scratches, and softening shine are not flaws, they’re traces of love, reminders to pause and cleanse.

We don’t believe in polishing away the story, as if those marks shouldn’t exist. Every scratch, every trace is part of you. This ritual is not about resetting to “new,” but about deepening the glow with care and attention. A monthly reminder that what you wear deserves to live, but also deserves love.

So wear your jewelry as you live: full, intense, unapologetic. And know that a little active love only makes them more beautiful.

Love note: put your jewelry on last: after perfume, creams, and makeup. Never clean above an open sink, and store them dry, separately, or in a jewelry box. That’s how their glow and color last for the long run.
